Creamed Tuna On Toast Recipe

Creamed Tuna On Toast Recipe
This dish is some real comfort food,I love it with fried potatoes & onions as a side dish. My kids still beg me to make this after over 30 years! I even grew up eating this.

Ingredients
  • 1 can drained and flaked Albacore tuna
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse grind pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water(more if needed)
  • Toast, white or wheat

Directions
  1. Place a medium saucepan over medium heat and add the salt, pepper and flour ,stir (you are making a medium white sauce) do NOT let the flour start browning, you just want it to melt the butter and bubble a little to get rid of the floury taste, next add the milk while stirring then start slowly adding water until the medium consistency is reached. Turn the heat down to a low simmer and stir in the tuna. Now make some toast and serve it ladled over the toast.

Creamed tuna on toast is great stuff. I do one with canned soups that are very quick and tasty. It's posted. Either way, tasty.
