Creamed Tuna On Toast

This dish is some real comfort food,I love it with fried potatoes & onions as a side dish. My kids still beg me to make this after over 30 years! I even grew up eating this.
Ingredients
- 1 can drained and flaked albacore tuna shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse grind pepper shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1 cup water(more if needed) shopping list
- toast, white or wheat shopping list
How to make it
- Place a medium saucepan over medium heat and add the salt, pepper and flour and butter,stir (you are making a medium white sauce) do NOT let the flour start browning, you just want it to melt the butter and bubble a little to get rid of the floury taste, next add the milk while stirring then start slowly adding water until the medium consistency is reached. Turn the heat down to a low simmer and stir in the tuna. Now make some toast and serve it ladled over the toast.
