This is a pretty good bread pudding that isn't completely soggy like some can be.This is the only bread pudding I will eat.

- 6 slices day-old bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cups warm milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt

Ingredients

6 slices day-old bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes shopping list
1 cup hot water shopping list
1 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
4 eggs, lightly beaten shopping list
2 cups warm milk shopping list
1/2 cup sugar shopping list
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list

How to make it

Place bread in a greased 2-qt baking dish. Combine water and brown sugar; pour over bread. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over bread. Bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold.

I found two wonderful bread pudding recipies today oh joy! I misplaced my mother's version quite some time ago. I'll add coconut like mom used to do. Thanks for the recipe!

This sounds very good. I make bread pudding using an old family recipe but we use biscuits. I will try this one.
