Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cook the pasta until just shy of al dente. Meanwhile, brown the meat in a skillet.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cooked meat, sauce, the 1/2 cup grated cheese, and the pasta until thoroughly combined.
  • Put into a 9 X 13 pan (you may want to spray the pan to ease cleanup)
  • Top with all (and more if you want) of the mozzarella and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup grated cheese.
  • Bake in a pre-heated, 375 degree oven for 20 minutes.

I'm actually making this tonight except I'm using a pound of ground italian turkey sausage and I'm adding a chopped onion to fry with it. I'm using a spicy canned marinara sauce and using small shell shaped pasta instead. Yum!

I'm the opposite, only because I've never bothered to try to make my own red sauce. Someday I hope to, because I can only imagine that it would greatly increase the flavor of the dish.

As for canned sauce, I've found I prefer Prego, but that's just me. Hopefully someday soon I can start working on my own red sauce!
