Tonkatsu Recipe

Tonkatsu Recipe
Ton means pork in Japanese. If you use chicken for this dish, it's called chicken-katsu. You can also use beef and make beef-katsu. No matter what you decide to use, this dish is just... yummmm

Ingredients
  • 3-4 pieces of boneless, thinly sliced pork cutlets.
  • 1 bag of Panko
  • 1 1/2 cup of flour
  • 3 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 bowls, or 3 Tupperware containers the size of sandwiches
  • 1 bottle of Tonkatsu Sauce

Directions
  1. Start off by heating up your deep frying oil.
  2. Pound the pork cutlets into even thinner slices with the bottom of a heavy pan, or a whatever it is that you use to pound your meat.
  3. Cut pieces in half and lay on a flat surface.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper on both sides.
  5. Take one of the 3 containers and place the flour in one.
  6. Crack the eggs, then scramble them, in another.
  7. And pour the panko in the last one.
  8. Take a piece of pork and lightly coat with flour, then take a dip in the egg, then coat in panko.
  9. Place in oil until golden brown, then flip, and cook until both sides are golden brown and firm.
  10. Since they are so thin, they will not take very long to cook, but be sure not to under cook.
  11. Once you have repeated this process with all the pork pieces and everything is cooked you can either eat the Tonkatsu like it is, or cut it into slices and serve with rice.
  12. Use your Tonkatsu sauce as a dipping sauce of course, it's yummy
