Venison Vegetable Roast In The Crock Pot Recipe
VENISON VEGETABLE ROAST IN THE CROCK POT This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Hartman Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1984.

Ingredients
  • 4 pound venison rump roast
  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 1 large white onion
  • 2 pounds carrots
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  1. In hot oil braise venison rump on all sides to lock in flavor.
  2. Peel potatoes, carrots and onions.
  3. Place venison roast in slow cooking crock pot and stick with the whole cloves.
  4. Quarter onion and place on top then add potatoes and salt and pepper liberally.
  5. Next add carrots then top with bay leaf and add water to cover vegetables.
  6. Cook on low for 10 hours.
