This has been one of my favorites for years. I found the recipe in my Better Crocker cookbook, the first one I ever owned! I made it today, after seeing it on the site and being reminded of it. I add the zest of one orange and I also make it in mini-loaves. They are so nice to keep wrapped in foil for gifts or frozen for unexpected guests.

Delicious! I have a similar recipe posted that was my mother's recipe. It is so good, especially at Christmas, and for gift giving. I will make several loaves this week. Thanks Pat, and glad that we are remembering these old Tried and True recipes. :)
