Dill And Onion Steaks With Horseradish Sauce Recipe
DILL AND ONION STEAKS WITH HORSERADISH SAUCE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Stinson Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1992

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2-1/2 tablespoons dill weed
  • 2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 beef tenderloins cut 1" thick
  • 2 large white onions thinly sliced and separated into rings
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 4 teaspoons prepared horseradish
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. In small bowl combine wine, oil 1-1/2 teaspoons of the dill weed, 1 teaspoon pepper and salt.
  2. Trim fat from meat then place steaks and onions in large plastic bag set in a shallow dish.
  3. Add marinade and close bag then marinate in refrigerator for several hours turning occasionally.
  4. Drain steaks reserving marinade and onions then broil steaks to desired doneness.
  5. Meanwhile in large skillet heat reserved marinade and onions to boiling then reduce heat.
  6. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  7. Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, horseradish, remaining salt, dill weed and pepper.
  8. Pile onions on plate and top with a fillet then top with sauce.
