This is a typical south Italy Christmas cake. Little balls of dough deep fried and dipped in honey. All the little balls represent money so ... the more you eat more money you will get!

Thanks for the link: very useful for the translation. The recipe says "cook until dark golden brown" but that makes the Struffoli taste bitter. I strongly suggest to cook them "pale golden".
