Cheesy Tomato Penne Bake

- 12 0z penne or rotini pasta (3 cups) uncooked shopping list
- 1 lb lean ground beef shopping list
- 2 cans (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes shopping list
- 1 can tomato sauce shopping list
- 16 oz shredded mozzarella cheese (divided) (I actually like to use an extra cup of cheese) shopping list
- basil, garlic and oregano to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Cook pasta according to package directions
- Preheat oven to 350F
- While pasta is cooking, brown meat in a large, deep skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Drain meat.
- Stir tomatoes and tomato sauce into the meat.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 8 minutes
- Drain pasta and return to same pot.
- Add meat mixture to pasta and toss well
- Add three cups of the cheese and toss (this is where I would put in the extra cheese)
- Spray a 13 x 9 inch baking dish with cooking spray
- Pour pasta mixture into dish
- Top with remaining cheese
- Bake in oven for 20 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted
