Cheesy Tomato Penne Bake Recipe
A good way to spice up ordinary pasta.

Ingredients
  • 12 0z penne or rotini pasta (3 cups) uncooked
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can Tomato sauce
  • 16 oz shredded Mozzarella Cheese (divided) (I actually like to use an extra cup of cheese)
  • Basil, garlic and oregano to taste

Directions
  1. Cook pasta according to package directions
  2. Preheat oven to 350F
  3. While pasta is cooking, brown meat in a large, deep skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat.
  4. Drain meat.
  5. Stir tomatoes and tomato sauce into the meat.
  6. Bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 8 minutes
  8. Drain pasta and return to same pot.
  9. Add meat mixture to pasta and toss well
  10. Add three cups of the cheese and toss (this is where I would put in the extra cheese)
  11. Spray a 13 x 9 inch baking dish with cooking spray
  12. Pour pasta mixture into dish
  13. Top with remaining cheese
  14. Bake in oven for 20 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted
