Amber Baked Onions Recipe
I thought Edith's baked onions was the best onion side dish ever until I made this dish. These onions are sublime. The ingredients are a little strange but come together beautifully into a great little easy side dish.

Ingredients
  • 12 large white onions, peeled and halved
  • 2 tbsp of melted bacon drippings
  • 4 tbsp of tomato juice
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 4 tbsp of honey
  • 1/2 tsp of paprika

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Have ready a large roasting pan, well greased.
  3. Put the onions snugly in the pan.
  4. Mix the drippings, tomato juice, salt, honey and paprika.
  5. Pour over onions.
  6. cover tightly with foil
  7. Bake one hour.
