Plum Kethup

- -----For 1 cup ketchup---- shopping list
- 1 jar (10 to 12 oz) plum preserves purchased or homemade shopping list
- 2ablespoons red wine vinegar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed shopping list
- 2 green onions, minced, include green tops shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced or pressed shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger shopping list
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon crushed red chili pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all of the ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Place over medium heat, Bring to a boil, stirring. Boil 1/2 minute.
- Remove from heat. Cool.
- Turn into serving jar or container. Cover and refrigerate overnight to blend flavors.
- ----------VARIATIONS----------
- To make a tasty peach ketchup, substitute peach preserves or peach chutney for the plum preserves.
- To make a mango ketchup, use mango chutney in place of the plum preserves. Puree in blender or food processor.
