Refried Beans

- 2 cups canned black beans, divided shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 2 minced garlic cloves shopping list
- 1 tsp black pepper shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp liquid smoke shopping list
- 3/4 cup diced onion shopping list
How to make it
- In a small bowl mash 2/3 cup of beans to a smooth paste.
- In a medium sized saucepan on medium heat, combine the remaining beans with the water. When heated through, stir in garlic, black pepper, salt and liquid smoke.
- Stir the bean paste into the remainder whole beans and mix well. Stir in the onion and cook for 10 minutes, or until onions are slightly cooked.

Nice smoky garlic flavour to the beans was a hit with the family...Not your traditional smashed pinto beans but a nice addition to a mexican food meal...
