Beer-eautiful Bratwursts Recipe
I made this for the first time recently; so easy. It came out sooooo good that my husband and I were drunk from the flavour! But seriously.. this will soon become your favorite summer dinner!

Ingredients
  • 1 package of raw bratwurst (usually 5 links per pack)
  • 1/2 package of sauerkraut
  • 1 package of potato rolls
  • 10 oz. of beer (your choice, we used a medium ale)
  • pickled banana peppers
  • 1/8 tsp. of celery seeds
  • 1/8 tsp. of onion powder
  • dash of cracked pepper & sea salt

Directions
  1. Place sauerkraut (all juice from package), beer, celery seeds, onion powder, salt and pepper in a medium bowl; mix well.
  2. Cover and marinate for at least 30 mins.
  3. After marinating, pour off some juice and heat sauerkraut in small pot on medium/low.
  4. Place Bratwursts on a broiling pan or grill and cook for 10 mins on each side or until thoroughly cooked.
  5. Serve Bratwursts on potato roll with the hot sauerkraut and some banana peppers on top
  6. Add salt 'n' vinegar chips on de side...
  7. mmm mmm!

I wonder if you didn't use a precooked brat. It would take about 10 minutes to heat that thru but could take lots longer to cook if it were fresh. I'll have to try this marination technique!
