Baked Brie Recipe

Baked Brie Recipe
This is a great morning appetizer. It's a sweet phyllo wrapped cheesy jammy spread. Goes great with sliced apples and the new cinnamon wheat thins!

Ingredients
  • 12 large sheets of phyllo pastry dough.
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 wedge of Brie cheese (about a 1/2 lb)
  • Raspberry Jam, or other favorite jam
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup (honey or other flavored syrup)
  • 1/4 cup pecans or walnuts (optional)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. On a baking sheet layer each phyllo sheet brushed with butter one at a time.
  3. Spread jam on top of brie.
  4. Put brie jam side down on top of the phyllo sheets.
  5. Fold dough over top.
  6. Flip so that the seam is down and the jam is on top.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
  8. Immediately top with brown sugar and syrup. (You want the brown sugar and syrup to melt, so you might place back in the oven for a couple minutes)
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve with apple slices, crackers, or toast.

Bookmarked for New Year's Eve! *smile*

Wonderful, this is really delicious. Thanks.

I am gonna make a savory version to this dish with sun dried tomatoes and garlic for Christmas dinner to accompany my prime rib.
