Beef And Peppers In Black Bean Sauce

- Marinade: shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce shopping list
- 2 teaspoons chinese rice wine or dry sherry shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch (mix in water) shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, shopping list
- -------------------------------------------------------------- shopping list
- 3/4 pound steak (sirloin or flank is good) shopping list
- 2 bell peppers, 1 green and 1 orange or red medium size sliced shopping list
- 1 small onion medium size sliced (also great with green onion) shopping list
- 1 tablespoon Chinese black bean sauce, or to taste ( can fine in any super market. In Chinese section. (see picture) shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic chopped (optional) shopping list
- 2 small slices ginger shopping list
- 4 tablespoons oil for stir-frying shopping list
- 1/2 cup chicken stock or broth (water can be use) shopping list
- IF Want SPICY...add 1or 2 dried red pepper crushed shopping list
How to make it
- Cut the beef into 1/4-inch thick. Add the marinade ingredients and marinate the beef for 25 to 30 minutes.
- While the beef is marinating, prepare the vegetables. Remove the stems and seeds from the bell peppers and sliced. Peel the onion in medium size sliiced
- Heat the wok over medium-high to heat. Add 2 tablespoons oil. When the oil is hot, add the ginger, bean mixture and the garlic, cook until aromatic. Add the beef, then stir-fry until it about 80 percent cooked.
- Add sugar, onion and the bell pepper. Stir-fry for another minute.
- Pour in the chicken broth. Heat to boiling. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for a few more minutes. Add the cornstarch a little at a time for thickness.
- Taste and season with salt, pepper or soy sauce if desired. NOTE: most of Black Bean Sauce...come salty...so becareful in your seasoning...
- Best serve over Jasmine rice...ENJOY
