How to make it

  • Wash and dry cucumber
  • Cut into quarters, lengthwise, then thinly slice into a non-metal bowl Grate cheddar cheese
  • add to cucumber
  • Break up the chestnuts into fairly large pieces
  • Add to cucumber and cheese
  • Toss well to mix, adding the French dressing.
  • Chill for one hour before serving
