TASTY FOR A LIGHT MAIN MEAL, LUNCH OR JUST A SNACK. I LOVE THESE WITH A LITTLE THICK GRAVEY, PEAS AND POTATOES, OR CHIPS, AS DESIRED.

Ingredients
  • 4 OZ. OR MORE IF DESIRED BEEF SKIRT.
  • 1 ONION
  • 3 OZ. DRIPPING
  • 1/2 TEASPOON OF BAKING POWDER
  • 1/4 LB POTATOES.
  • 8 OZS. FLOUR
  • SALT AND PEPPER
  • MIXED HERBS - IF DESIRED AND/OR/ GARLIC

Directions
  1. PEEL AND CHOP THE POTATOES AND THE ONION SMALL.
  2. FLAKE THE MEAT (M9NCED MEAT CAN BE USED IF DESIRED)
  3. MAKE THE FLOUR, FAT AND SALT INTO PASTRY.
  4. ROLL PASTRY OUT INTO SMALL ROUNDS
  5. PART COOK THE POTATOES AND ONIONS TILL SOFT THEN MIX WITH MEAT WHEN COOL.
  6. PUT AN AMOUNT OF THIS MIXTURE IN THE CENTRE OF EACH PASTRY CIRCLE. DAMPEN THE EDGES OF THE PASTRY AND SHAPE TO SEAL THE FILLING.
  7. GLAZE WITH BEATEN EGG OR MILK
  8. BAKE ON A BAKING SHEET, IN THE OVEN FOR 30 - 40 MINUTES.
  9. DON1T FORGET THE GRAVEY WHEN SERVING.

Fabulous - love this or something similar my Aunt Mabel from England makes. She says odd job men take them to work and eat it for their lunch - fascinating isn't it. Love the caps BTW.
