Cinnamon Chip Cinnamon Scones Recipe
If you like cinnamon, you'll love this triple-shot of cinnamon goodness. I've made a few scones in my time, but these received more praise than most of my other recipes.

Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 2/3 cup half-and-half
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup mini cinnamon chips
  • a little extra cinnamon and sugar mixed together

Directions
  1. Mix the first five (the dry) ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Combine milk, egg and vanilla in a measuring cup. Add liquids to flour mixture and stir until ingredients are moistened.
  4. Fold in cinnamon chips.
  5. Drop by very large tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Sprinkle with extra cinnamon and sugar.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

This sounds like a cookie I would want, only I do ot know what cinnamon chips are.

Please tell me what can be used in case I can not find them.


Mmmmm ... cinnamon. A long time ago I had a friend who made these for parties AND WOULDN'T SHARE THE RECIPE! Thanks for this one - I can't wait to try it. I've said it before: What did I do before I found this site?!
