Black Eyed Pea Cornbread

An interesting recipe that I found on the internet, originally submitted by the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef shopping list
- 1 cup canned black-eyed peas, drained shopping list
- 1 cup onion, chopped shopping list
- 3/4 cup cream-style corn shopping list
- 1 cup cornmeal shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1/4 cup cooking oil shopping list
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 2 jalapeno peppers, chopped shopping list
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated shopping list
How to make it
- Brown meat and drain well. Break into small pieces. Add other ingredients in order given. Mix well. Place in 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan that has been well greased. Bake for 45 minutes, or until done.
