How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350.
  • With electric beaters beat butter and vanilla until creamy.
  • Add sugar, flour and walnuts then blend until well mixed.
  • Press into bottom of spring form pan and bake 20 minutes then remove to rack and cool 5 minutes.
  • Beat cheeses with sugar until smooth then add eggs and vanilla and beat until thoroughly incorporated.
  • With rubber spatula stir in chocolate and blend thoroughly.
  • Spoon into pan and bake 55 minutes.
  • Cool 5 minutes on rack.
  • Stir together sour cream and sugar until sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth.
  • Spread over hot cake and bake 5 additional minutes.
  • Cool on rack then refrigerate and chill thoroughly.
