How to make it

  • Mix together all ingredients, and stir well.
  • Let stand 1 hour.
  • Stir again and put on a well floured board. Divide dough into 3 parts.
  • Roll each part into a long snake about the diameter of a dime.
  • Cut into 1/2 inch peices
  • Drop a few peices into rapidly boiling salted water.
  • As soon as the dumplings rise, skim into a bowl of very cold water. Drain well.
  • Toss in butter and Serve immediatly
  • or
  • re-heat in a casserole with plenty of butter.
  • This is also wonderful with browned butter.
