Sauer Kraut Stuffed Sausage Recipe

How to make it

  • Pre-heat oven to 350
  • Foil line a cookie sheet, set a baking rack on top of foil
  • In bowl, combine drained sauer kraut and 2/3 bag of cheese
  • Slice sausages lengthwise, about halfway through
  • Pull sausages open a little at the center, carefeul not to break the cut
  • Stuff sauer kraut and cheese mixture inside the sausages, press it in as tight as you can without breaking the halves apart
  • Place stuffed sausages on baking rack on the cookie sheet
  • Top with remaining shredded cheese
  • Bake 15-20 minutes, switch to broil last 2-3 minutes to brown tops
