Breaded Chicken Fingers Recipe

Breaded Chicken Fingers Recipe

Easy and quick to do for a good meal...serve along with french fries and gravy for dipping, I prefer honey mustard myself. I don't usually as much garlic as this recipe calls for because Hub-Man doesn't like it.

Ingredients
  • 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves-cut into 1/2 inch strips
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk**
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • oil for frying
  • **if you don't have buttermilk-you can take 1 cup milk with 1 tbsp of lemon and let sit for 10 minutes :)

Directions
  1. Place chicken strips into a large resealable plastic bag. In a small bowl mix the egg, buttermilk, and garlic powder. Pour mixture into bag with chicken. Seal and refrigerate for 2-4 hours. (I have done it for an hour and it was still good)
  2. Heat oil for frying to 375
  3. In another large, resealable plastic bag, mix together the flour, bread crumbs, salt, and baking powder. Remove chicken from fridge and drain-discarding buttermilk mixture. Place chicken in flour bag. Seal, and shake to coat.
  4. Carefully place coated chicken in hot oil, fry until golden brown and juices run clear. Drain on paper towel.
