Breaded Chicken Fingers

- 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves-cut into 1/2 inch strips shopping list
- 1 egg beaten shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk** shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder shopping list
- 1 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- oil for frying shopping list
- **if you don't have buttermilk-you can take 1 cup milk with 1 tbsp of lemon and let sit for 10 minutes :) shopping list
How to make it
- Place chicken strips into a large resealable plastic bag. In a small bowl mix the egg, buttermilk, and garlic powder. Pour mixture into bag with chicken. Seal and refrigerate for 2-4 hours. (I have done it for an hour and it was still good)
- Heat oil for frying to 375
- In another large, resealable plastic bag, mix together the flour, bread crumbs, salt, and baking powder. Remove chicken from fridge and drain-discarding buttermilk mixture. Place chicken in flour bag. Seal, and shake to coat.
- Carefully place coated chicken in hot oil, fry until golden brown and juices run clear. Drain on paper towel.
