Cheesy Salsa Dip Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 pkg. (226 gr / 8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cans prepared chili (with or without beans)
  • 1 large jar salsa (hot or mild, to taste)
  • 2 pkg. (226 gr / 8 oz. each) Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

Directions
  1. 1. Use a spatula to spread softened cream cheese evenly over bottom of a 9x13" baking pan.
  2. 2. Pour chili over top of cream cheese and spread evenly.
  3. 3. Pour salsa over chili and spread evenly again.
  4. 4. Sprinkle shredded Monterey Jack cheese on top, and bake in a heated 350° F. oven for about 20 - 30 minutes, until cheese is bubbly.
  5. 5. The recipe can also be microwaved for about 15 minutes in a microwave-safe pan.
  6. 6. Prepare in exactly the same manner otherwise.
  7. 7. Serve dip warm with plain or flavored tortilla chips.

Add a small can of Jalepeneo's (the juice & chop up the peppers to taste) to spice this up a bit, it's yummy. We use Frito's big dippers to scoop it up with. The salsa does add to this dish, nice touch.

I can use my vegetarian chili for this, Cheesy Salsa Dip. Great alternative to what is presented at parties.
