How to make it

  • Sterilize pint canning jars.
  • Into each jar put 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 clove garlic and 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes.
  • Pack with green tomatoes or peppers filling within 1/2 inch from top of jars.
  • Mix 1 quart of white vinegar to 1 pint water in a pot and bring to a boil.
  • Pour mixture over tomatoes or peppers to fill jar.
  • Seal and shake jar to mix ingredients on bottom.
  • Process 15 minutes in a boiling water bath.
  • Let marinate a couple of months.
