Crabby Cakes

- 1 pound crabmeat-carefully picked over to remove shell fragments and cartilage shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups seasoned bread crumbs-divided shopping list
- 1/2 green bell pepper-diced shopping list
- 1/2 red bell pepper-diced shopping list
- 1 small onion-diced shopping list
- 1 egg beaten shopping list
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard shopping list
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- Crabby Sauce: shopping list
- 1 cup mayonnaise shopping list
- 2 tablespoons honey shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper-or to taste shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard shopping list
How to make it
- Set 1 cup of bread crumbs aside in a shallow bowl.
- In a large bowl,combine the remaining ingredients(except for the oil). This includes the remaining 1/2 cup of bread crumbs for binding. You may need more or less.
- Mix well and form into thick patties.
- Coat patties with bread crumbs.
- Freeze crab cakes for 30 minutes to set.
- Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Saute crab cakes on both sides until golden brown and heated through.
- Crabby sauce:
- Stir together mayonnaise,honey,mustard,and pepper until well combined . Keep in refrigerator until ready to use.
- Serve with crabby cakes.
