Ingredients

1 pound crabmeat-carefully picked over to remove shell fragments and cartilage

1 1/2 cups seasoned bread crumbs-divided

1/2 green bell pepper-diced

1/2 red bell pepper-diced

1 small onion-diced

1 egg beaten

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup vegetable oil

Crabby Sauce:

1 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons cayenne pepper-or to taste

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

Directions

Set 1 cup of bread crumbs aside in a shallow bowl.

In a large bowl,combine the remaining ingredients(except for the oil). This includes the remaining 1/2 cup of bread crumbs for binding. You may need more or less.

Mix well and form into thick patties.

Coat patties with bread crumbs.

Freeze crab cakes for 30 minutes to set.

Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Saute crab cakes on both sides until golden brown and heated through.

Crabby sauce:

Stir together mayonnaise,honey,mustard,and pepper until well combined . Keep in refrigerator until ready to use.

Serve with crabby cakes.
