Buttermilk Layer Cake

- vegetable oil for greasing pan shopping list
- 2 1/3 cups cake flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 12 tbsp. butter shopping list
- 1 1/3 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 2 9-inch. cake pans shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease pans and set aside
- Sift together cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt
- In separate small bowl whisk together eggs and vanilla
- Beat butter until creamy
- Over course of 3 minutes, beat sugar in with butter
- Over course of 2 minutes, mix in egg and vanilla mixture
- Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk in three parts
- Divide batter between pans and smooth tops
- Bake 25-30 minutes until golden brown and toothpick in center comes out clean
- Cool for 10 minutes, than unload on cooling rack. Cool completely before frosting
