Brownies With Cola

BROWNIES WITH COLA This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Elmhurst Estate in Heath, Texas in 1981.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 3 tablespoons cocoa shopping list
- 1 cup cola shopping list
- 1/2 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 2 eggs beaten shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1-1/2 cup miniature marshmallows shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 1 cup margarine shopping list
- 3 tablespoon cocoa shopping list
- 6 tablespoons cola shopping list
- 16 ounces sifted powdered sugar shopping list
- 1 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Sift flour and sugar.
- Heat butter, cocoa and cola to boiling then pour over sugar mixture.
- Mix buttermilk, eggs, soda, marshmallows and vanilla then add to mixture and mix well.
- Batter will be thin.
- Pour into greased and floured rectangular baking pan and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
- To make frosting combine margarine, cocoa and cola then heat to boiling.
- Pour over sugar.
- Blend with mixer until smooth.
- Add nuts and vanilla.
- Pour over brownies while frosting is hot.
