Easy Shepherds Pie Recipe
Quick to prepare ahead, this dish makes a meal when served with a salad. Turkey and beef together keep the fat content low without drying it out. Based on the ingredients listed, each serving is 11 weight watchers points.

  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 lb frozen peas
  • 1 pkg brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 tsp rosemary
  • 3 tsp sage
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • black pepper to taste
  • 6 cups mashed potatoes

Directions
  1. Brown meat in frying pan, draining fat if necessary.
  2. Add rosemary, sage and Worcestershire sauce to meat mixture.
  3. Add frozen peas, brown gravy mix and water. Stir to combine.
  4. Cook until gravy begins to thicken.
  5. Add pepper to taste.
  6. Put mixture into 9x13 baking pan.
  7. Top with a layer of mashed pototoes to cover meat mixture. (Can be refrigerated or frozen at this point.)
  8. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes covered. Uncover and cook an additional 20 minutes to brown the potatoes on top.
