Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup applesauce
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg....set aside
  3. In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients, except the cheese and mix well.
  4. gradually add the cheese and stir until evenly blended.
  5. roll the dough into balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Platten with a fork and sprinkle with extre sugar.
  7. Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden.
  8. Remove from cookie sheets while warm.
  9. Makes 3 dozen
