Chicken Fried Steak Recipe

How to make it

  • Melt shortening over low heat.
  • Shake steaks, one at a time, until coated.
  • Place coated steaks in hot skillet
  • Increase heat to medium-high
  • Fry steaks 5 minutes on each side and remove from pan
  • Put remaining coating mix into skillet
  • Add water and stir to mix coating mix into pan drippings
  • Heat to boiling, stirring constantly
  • Pour sauce over steaks and serve
