Spaghetti con Pan Grattugiato Spaghetti with Bread Crumbs

- 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- 1 and 1/2 cups coarse fresh bread crumbs shopping list
- 1 tablespoon sugar shopping list
- 1 pound spaghetti shopping list
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons fine sea salt shopping list
How to make it
- Directions:
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large saute pan.
- Add the bread crumbs and stir with a wooden spoon to coat them with the olive oil.
- Cook the crumbs over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown in color.
- Remove the crumbs to a bowl, stir in the sugar, and set aside.
- Cook the spaghetti according to the instructions. Drain the pasta, reserving 2 tablespoons of cooking water.
- Return the pasta to the cooking pot, stir in the water, the remaining 1/4 cup olive oil, and the salt.
- Transfer the pasta to a platter.
- Sprinkle half of the bread crumbs over the top and, with two spoons, toss the pasta to evenly coat the strands with the crumbs.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumbs over the top and serve immediately.
