Besan Roti Recipe
A great accompaniament for any curry. You can really soak up the curry sauce or use it like a wrap with the curry inside

Ingredients
  • 1 cup chick pea (besan) flour
  • 1 cup atta flour
  • 1 tspn salt
  • 1 tblspn dry fenugreek leaves
  • 1 tblspn turmeric
  • 1/2 tspn ajwaiin seeds (a small onion seed)
  • 1/2 tspn chilli powder
  • 1/2 tspn crushed black pepper
  • 1 tblspn ghee (soft clarified butter)
  • oil to fry

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients along with water to make a pliable dough
  2. Roll into large rounds (bread and butter plate size, say 8") and 1cm (1/2") thick
  3. Cook in a heavy bottomed pan on either side till done
  4. Spread a little ghee on them and fry for a few seconds
  5. Serve with curries, plain yoghurt or pickled vegetables
