Lamb With Chickpeas Recipe
A traditional Turkish recipe thats very simple and very tasty. Perfect with steamed rice.,

Ingredients
  • 2 glasses of tinned chickpeas
  • 250g of lamb cubed
  • 4 tablespoons of butter or margarine
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 2 large tomatoes or 3 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 4-5 glasses of meat stock or water
  • 1 green or red pepper
  • Salt.

Directions
  1. Skin and cube the tomatoes and set aside.
  2. chop the onions
  3. melt the butter in a large pan and fry the onions until brown
  4. add the meat and cook stirring occasionally until the juices evapourate
  5. Add the peeled and chopped tomatoes, the pepper sliced ,2 glasses of stock and season with salt.
  6. cover and cook on a very low heat for 45 mins
  7. add the beans and more stock if neccessary.
  8. cover and let simmer until the beans are tender
  9. if the stew is watery briskly boil uncovered.
  10. serve over rice and garnish with red pepper flakes.
