Italian Chili

- 1 pkg. (19.76 oz.) italian sausage links. shopping list
- 1 cup chopped onion. shopping list
- 3 celery ribs, cut into 1/2" pieces. shopping list
- 1 each large sweet red, yellow and green peppers, cut into 1" pieces. shopping list
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed shopping list
- 3 Tbsp. olive oil. shopping list
- 3 cans (14-1/2-oz.) Italian recipe stewed tomatoes shopping list
- 1 can (16-oz.) dark red kidney beans rinsed and drained. shopping list
- 1 can (15-oz.) butter beans, rinsed and drained. shopping list
- 1 can (6-oz). tomato paste shopping list
- 3/4 cup sliced black olives shopping list
- 1/4 cup cream sherry shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil shopping list
- 1-1/2 tsp. baking cocoa shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. ground cayenne pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Grill sausage according to pkg. directions.
- Cut into half moon slices and set aside.
- In Dutch oven, sauté onions, celery, sweet peppers and garlic in olive oil until tender.
- Add sausage and remaining ingredients, bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes or until flavors are blended.
- TIP: Sprinkle chili with grated Asiago, Romano or Parmesan cheese.
