COFFEECAN CASSEROLE Recipe
COFFEECAN CASSEROLE IS ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO BE COOKED IN A COFFEECAN ON AN OPEN FIRE FOR CAMPING. IT CAN ALSO BE LAYERED IN ALUMINUM FOIL AND SEALED, AND THEN COOKED OVER AN OPEN FIRE OR ON A B-B-Q GRILL

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 LB GROUND BEEF
  • 1 SMALL ONION (CHOPPED)
  • 1 HEAD CABBAGE (CHOPPED)
  • 3 CANS TOMATO SAUCE

Directions
  1. Spread ground beef in the bottom of a large casserole pan.
  2. Sprinkle chopped onion over the ground beef.
  3. Toss the cabbage into the pan also.
  4. Pour the tomato sauce over the cabbage.
  5. Bake at 350* until the ground beef is done and the cabbage is tender.(sometimes this takes 45 minutes or longer)

Looks like an easy way to make stuffed cabbage. I'm gonna make this soon


We used to make this on Girl Scout camping trips. Love the memory. Will have to try this with the daughter on our next camping trip.
