Chinese Curry Sauce Recipe
I was given this recipe by a frind but have not tried it ! Let me kow what you think !

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsn Olive Oil (or vegetable oil if you prefer)
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, peeled and chopped thinly
  • 2 tbsn. plain flour
  • 2 tsp. curry powder (Madras or similar from Chinese grocers)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 -1 tsp. chilli powder (how hot do you want it ? - you can add more along the way if you want, so be be gentle on your victims !!!)
  • 1 tsp. sweet paprika powder

Directions
  1. Mix the curry powder and the flour in a bowl and put to on side.
  2. Heat the oil in a wok or large pan
  3. Add the ginger and garlic and stir fry for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the flour and curry powder mix and allow it to bubble. Stiring frequently
  5. Add the salt, paprika and chilli powder and stir well.
  6. Add water, a little at a time, untilt he sauce isof the require consistency (thick but fluid).
  7. Bring to boil and simmer briskly for a few minutes.
  8. Remove from the heat.
  9. Use this a side dish or pour over chips ! (yummy)
  10. You can make a meat style curry. like chicken, prawns, pork or boiled potatoes, Mushrooms etc.,
  11. heat 1 tbs. oil in a wok
  12. stir-fry the chicken/prawns/meat/potatoes. mushrooms until nearly cooked and then add the curry paste.
  13. Continue to stir-fry for a few minutes. Add a little water, if you want more gravy or if it is going a little thick.
  14. Serve hot, with rice or noodles or chips.

Mmmm, my husband will love this! He loves curry in almost anything. He even puts it in his scrambled eggs. Will try.


Olive Oil? No.


I only ever use Olive Oil in cooking. It's better for you than theo other types and I like it.
