How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Grease a 5'' x 9'' loaf pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl,beat the butter, sugar and lemon zest with a wooden spoon until creamy, beat in eggs.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl, and add to butter mixture:stir in lemon juice and milk.
  • Mix in almonds and raisins, reserving 1 Tbsp.almonds for the top.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and sprinkle with reserved nuts.
  • Bake 50 minutes, or until loaf is golden and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in pan for 5 minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool completely.

    I agree with the kids it is a great snack will add this to my bread recipes and make it for my nine grand children!....they are the best real loving people in the world for me after my children god be with them .Thanks for posting ,have a nice day.
