This is something I always make on New Year's (for good luck), but it's excellent any night, especially during the colder months. The best part of this pork dish is that you throw it in the crockpot in the morning and forget it. Come dinner time ma... More

Ingredients
  • 2 - 32oz cans sauerkraut
  • 2 red apples, cut into chunks
  • 1 bottle lager-style beer (I use Yeungling, but you can't get it everywhere)
  • 3lb pork roast
  • optional - 1 or 2 loops of kielbasa, cut into chunks

Directions
  1. Add one can of sauerkraut to slow cooker
  2. Place pork roast on top
  3. Place apple chunks in around the roast
  4. Add kielbasa if desired
  5. Pour over half the beer
  6. Add second can of sauerkraut, spreading it out to cover
  7. Pour remainder of beer.
  8. Cover and cook in slow cooker for 8 hours
