Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup dried hibiscus blossoms (about 2 ounces)
  • 3 cups water
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups tequila
  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/3 cup Triple Sec or other orange flavored liqueur
  • 8 lime wedges

Directions
  1. Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, add hibiscus, and simmer on very low heat for 10 minutes. Strain the liquid into a pitcher pressing to remove all the liquid and discard blossoms (or use them for another recipe). Cover and chill the hibiscus syrup. When the syrup is cooled, combine with the tequila, lime juice, and Triple Sec. Serve over ice and garnish with lime wedges, or try it blended!

Sounds interesting.. never had hibiscus margaritas before... the only hibiscus drink i had was in Jamaica. Thanks.. Rich

Sounds great! I love hibiscus teas.

I already make Iced Hibiscus Tea it is delicious, refreshing and a beautiful deep red colour but this will certainly perk it up a bit when entertaining. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Sounds really nice, but I hope it is enough to overpower the tequila a bit...
