This is nice with a green salad or nothing else at all. This is my son's favorite meal and he has learned to make it for his sons. It is just so good.

Ingredients
  • 2-3 lbs. chicken
  • 4 qts boulion or chicken stock
  • 2 cps. Carrot coins
  • 2 cps celery chopped
  • 1 cp onion chopped
  • 2-3 lbs. potatoes sliced
  • 1 tbs. garlic chopped
  • 2 cps zucini sliced (Optional)
  • 1 bunch fresh spinach (Optional)
  • 1 tbs. parsley
  • Dumplings
  • 2 cps. Flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cp milk
  • 1/3 cp butter

Directions
  1. Cook chicken until tender in the broth. Remove skin and bones and cut into bite sized pieces.
  2. Put chicken and all veggies into stock.
  3. Cook till tender.
  4. Salt and pepper to taste.
  5. If you use boulion or chicken stock be careful with adding salt.
  6. Put all dumpling ingredients in to food processor and mix till well mixed or use dumpling recipe on Bisquick box.
  7. Drop by spoon fuls into simmering stew.
  8. Cover and cook for twenty minutes.
  9. This freezes well and is even better a day or two later.
  10. Yum Yum. This will feed 12 people easily but I usually freeze half of it for another meal.
