Jules--I have never tried another soda. I'm a dr. pepper fanatic--it gives it a caramel flavor. It is a very delicious and moist cake that my family really loves. Let me know if you try another type of soda. I'd love to hear how it comes out.

Oh this sounds really yummy.

Is this similiar to the Dr. Pepper creme cake that they sell at Walmart. I have been trying to find a recipe to make that, and have never been able to find one. This sounds like it would come out much like their cake! If so, I can't wait to try your recipe!!!!!!!!!

Dr Pepper the drink of champions! Sounds like I would really like this on.Thanks

I LOVE Dr Pepper, especially with Southern Comfort. I agree, it's the drink of Champions!

Have you ever tried any other kind of pop? What flavor does the Dr. Pepper make it have? Very intriguing!

To answer my previous question, yes, this is just like the creme cakes they sell at Walmart. Absolutely delicious!
To answer Jules's question, I tried this with orange soda, and it was so good! (just happened to have a can of orange soda, and I've had the crush creme cake from walmart and liked it!) If it was that good, I can't wait to try the dr. pepper!

Me again. A while back, I went to make this again (because it's become a favorite recipe in our house) and didn't have a white cake mix, but had a cinnamon cake mix, so I used that instead. Let me tell you, the results were amazing. It was more like some kind of breakfast cake, and my husband just went nuts over it. I think there are a million ways to alter this recipe and every one of them is awesome! If you haven't tried it yet, you must try it!
