Cajun Cornbread Recipe

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine cornmeal, flour and pepper. Stir it well to distribute pepper.
  • Add buttermilk, eggs and oil and mix well.
  • Fold in sausage.
  • Pour batter into a greased shallow baking dish, (I use an 8x8 glass dish).
  • Bake for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, and serve with a lot of butter.
  • TIP: I serve it with my Cajun Butter Sauce (posted here).
