Volcano Bread Recipe
VOLCANO BREAD This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Ritchie Estate in Balch Springs, Texas in 1984.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sharp shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped white onion
  • 1 can water chestnuts drained and chopped
  • 1 package vegetable soup mix
  • 1 sprinkle onion soup mix
  • 1 can mushrooms drained
  • 1 package chopped frozen spinach cooked as directed and drained very well

Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Select a nice deep pumpernickel bread at your local bakery.
  3. Cut a large hole around top and hollow out inside reserving bread chunks.
  4. Pour mixture inside bread.
  5. Wrap in foil and heat in oven for 15 minutes then serve immediately.
