Ingredients
  • 2 Tables. Chopped onion
  • 2 Tables. Chopped sweet green pepper
  • 1 Tables.Butter
  • 1 Can Tomatoe Soup(und)
  • 1/4 Cup water
  • 1Tables.Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tables. Cider Vinegar
  • 1 teas. dry mustard
  • 2 cans Butter Beans,drained

Directions
  1. Saute onion and green pepper in Butter,watching as not to burn.
  2. Add remaining ingred.except Butter Beans,Heat though
  3. Gently stir in Butter Beans
  4. Pour into 1-Qt baking dish
  5. Bake at 375 degrees
  6. 45 Minutes or about
  7. Enjoy

Kismet, this recipe is almost the same as my Grandmother's.She fed her kids this during the depression and I fed my kids this when we were poor as church mice.They loved it. The only difference was we used carrots instead of green pepper. We'd cook them until tender, drain and add to the casserole before baking. This is good. I'll try adding pepper.


I tried this recipe this weekend and it was really good, I will definitely be making it on a regular basis.
