How to make it

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper, and brown in skillet in 1 tbsp butter over medium high heat
  • Add onion, cook 2 minutes
  • Add 1 tsp sage, 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp thyme. Stir
  • Add Chicken Broth, apple, and apple butter. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook until chicken is cooked through, about five minutes.
  • Add half and half, cook 2 minutes more.

    This is similar to a dish from Normandy I used to make. It sounds interesting. I'll try it in apple season and come back.
