Salmon Patties With Cream Sauce Recipe

Before we were a family of 8, Mom used to make this every friday or so. It got to be to expensive to feed the whole clan, but I remembered the dish and how much I enjoyed it. Time to share it!

Ingredients
- 1can of Red Sockeye salmon (bones removed) and flaked.
- 1 egg.
- 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs.
- 1/2 lemon.
- 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper.
- Olive oil.
- White sauce (betty Crockers).
- 2 tbsps. butter.
- 2 tbsps. flour.
- 1 1/2 cups milk.
- Dash salt & pepper.
- 1 4 0z. can green peas.
- SIdes - Aasparagus tips sauteed in butter with bacon and onion.
- Or french style green beans done the same way.
Directions
- Mix flaked salmon, egg, bread crumbs, lemon juiced, salt and pepper.
- Shape into 4 to 6 patties and pan fry in olive oil about 5 to 7 minutes per side.
- Sauce
- Melt butter in sauce pan.
- Stir in flour, and add milk and seasonings.
- Heat and cook peas and add to sauce.
- Pour over salmon patties and enjoy!
- (Do not boil, do on medium to low heat.)

This sounds tasty, I've made salmon patties but never had a sauce to put on top so this will be new, what do you remember your mom serving this dish with? maybe mashed potatoes?

Great sides, I have a side dish that would go great with this you made me remember, I'm sure I've posted it, it was one of my moms too, it is brussels sprouts with dried fruit.
