How to make it

  • 1.Preheat oven to 350F. Heat 2 cups chocolate chips & butter in a microwave-proof bowl on low heat for 1-2 minutes, just until melted. Mix until smooth.
  • 2.In a mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients--all purpose flour, baking powder and salt.
  • 3.In another mixing bowl, beat eggs, brown sugar and vanilla by hand until well combined or if you have an electric mixer, whip the eggs, brown sugar and vanilla at high speed until light and fluffy. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture. Then add the dry ingredients. Lastly, fold in 2 cups chocolate chips & chopped walnuts.
  • 4.Drop a scoop of dough onto a baking sheet, 2-3 inches apart. (The dough can be refrigerated for at least 1 hour to make the dough firmer.) Bake for 12-15 minutes, rotating the cookie sheet halfway through until cookies are shiny & a bit crackly but still soft in the center. Cool completely on a wire rack.
