From scratch means just that! I have been drinking margaritas for 40 years. No self respecting person uses LIMEADE. We use LIMES! and tequila, crushed ice and triplesec. The cheaper the brand of tequila the better.
If you ever find yourself in Mexico City, go to La Fonda Del Refugio, a restaurant in the Zona Rosa, and have their margarita and one will understand what "elixir to the gods" means.
