I've been using this recipe since 1988! You pre-cook the chicken on your stovetop before you broil or barbecue it outdoors. This marinade is also great with steak and when brushed on burgers right before serving.

I always wondered how to make your own teriyaki sauce. Cooking it ahead of time makes sense so you don't burn it on the barbieeeeque..lol.. sorry, couldn't resist. I love this recipe and you know that I will be cooking this up in the backyard soon enough. Excellent recipe, Annie!

Made your barbecued terriyaki chicken last night. It was wonderful, the flavor was great. Grilled the chicken and cooked the sauce down to thicken and served over rice. Thanks for a great post.

Ok Annie, listen to me. I made this. Cinny sent this to me and told me to try it. She said that it was just like the teri chicken we had in Hawaii. Ya know what? It is! It tastes just like it. What a great simple recipe, too. Dang right delicious, Annie. I'm always going to make teriyaki chicken like this. A three ingredient masterpiece! WEll plus the chicken. We made steaks too and they were out of this world. Thanks to you, dinner was great!
